About Us
Mike and I live in southern New Hampshire on 93 acres of forested land with a large pond in the front. We moved up here a couple of years ago from Loudoun County, VA, to get away from the heat and traffic of that congested area. The most important criteria for choosing our property was a workshop for Mike’s cabinetry business. Of course we wanted a few acres for some “personal space,” but never expected to find a place like this. The workshop building had housed a saw sharpening business for 18 years, so was grimy with metal shavings, oil, and soot from the wood stove.
However, we covered the floor with plywood, insulated the walls and covered them with plywood to strengthen the building and make it easy to hang things and made it into a great work space. A little paint helped, too.
We got some big jobs right away, so it took a while to arrange all the equipment – clients come first! As he had time, Mike built wall cabinets so we could unpack all the tools and supplies

There is another area to this building with the big table saw, planer, jointer, welder, sandblaster, tractor, etc. Like any other wood shop, it’s a work in progress.
When we’re not working in the shop or on a job site, we love to walk around the property, especially in the snow to read the tracks. There is an abundance of wildlife here: beavers, deer, moose, bear, bobcats and coyotes to name a few. Bird feeding requires vigilance to preserve our feeders!
And, of course at least once a week we go out to find old tools. Most of the time, I buy them and then we clean them up together – not too clean, just enough to find a maker name and ascertain the condition.
